In 2025, my expecting wife and I moved to California to take charge of my parents’ immigration case, though we had no plans to move or live there at any point. This was a turbulent time in our lives, as we tried to find stability in our life while missing home, dealing with language barriers, and external problems along the way. During this time, I looked for the positive things we experienced, and collected notes and photographs along the way. We traveled through deserts, ambled along the coastline, and took walks in the city. The contrasts between the different landscapes and people are just unbelievable.

This is a summary of our experience there in photographic form. I have also designed and published an expanded edition of this project in magazine form, to have as a keepsake and share with others near and dear to us.
